Links for more information We reviewed the potential of
ground-based gamma-ray telescopes for AGN and fundamental physics. The workshop
was intended to bring together theorists and experimentalists working with
very-high energy gamma-rays, using them for the diagnosis of AGN acceleration
mechanisms, for AGN population studies, and as cosmic test beams to study
cosmology and fundamental physics. Further on, we discussed the prospects
for physics of extragalactic gamma-ray sources with advanced and future imaging
Cerenkov telescopes in the pre-GLAST and GLAST era. Also discussions on
prospects for detecting dark-matter signatures were included. The meeting
served for formulating future observational strategies for VHE gamma-ray
instruments. Particularly also networking (Global Network of Cherenkov
Telescopes: HESS, VERITAS, CANGAROO), multi-wavelength (GLAST, AGILE, Suzaku,
XMM-Newton, Chandra, optical, radio...) and multi-messenger (e.g. IceCube)
approaches were discussed.
